1. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use ClipPilot:

• Account info: Name, email address, and password (hashed — we never store plaintext passwords)
• Content: Videos you upload and the clips, captions, and transcripts we generate from them
• Usage data: Minutes processed, features used, timestamps of activity
• Billing info: Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card numbers
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic device info for security and debugging

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to:

• Provide and improve the ClipPilot service
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your data, use your content to train AI models, or share your information with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. How We Store Your Content

Your uploaded videos and generated clips are stored in private, encrypted cloud storage. Files are only accessible to you via authenticated, time-limited signed URLs. No other user — or ClipPilot staff — can access your content without your permission.

Content is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete a project or close your account, associated files are permanently deleted within 30 days.

4. Third-Party Services

ClipPilot uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and file storage (SOC 2 compliant)
• Stripe — payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
• Railway — background video processing infrastructure

Each provider has their own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — specifically, a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information in your account
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your clips and content at any time

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls limiting who can interact with production data. If we become aware of a breach that affects your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.

8. Children's Privacy

ClipPilot is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via email before any material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
